An Email Marketing Glossary Entry

What is B2C?

B2C is an acronym for Business To Consumer. The term is used to refer to any business or business process that services or sells to private individuals. Retail outlets, such as Amazon and Ebay, are examples of B2C businesses.

How B2C Affects Emails

Emails sent to consumers are usually quite different from those directed at businesses. The email cycles for B2C are relatively short, the timing can sustain a lot of variations, the tone needs to be personal and emotion-driver, and finally the content needs to provide immediate, almost overwhelming value.
